OUTSIDE IN is a non-profit community-based organization established in 1995 to bring free, live, professional music, dance and other artistic presentations to people who are confined in shelters, residential treatment facilities, correctional facilities, and nursing homes in New Mexico and who do not otherwise have access to the Arts. David Lescht, founder and executive director of OUTSIDE IN, invited Spearhead - who generously donated time in their busy schedule to play for youth from age 12-18 on February 27. A seated audience ended with the entire room jumping up and down and full of smiles from the infectious performance Michael and Spearhead gave."It was unprecedented to see those kids jumping up and down and hugging each other. I've never seen that in my ten years of touring correctional facilities, juvenile or adult...", David expressed.

"I have played 4 times in New Mexico correctional facilities and each time I do I am moved by the residents desire to grow beyond their current circumstances. OUTSIDE IN teachers are inside everyday of the week, teaching people to play guitar, hip hop dance and learn the valuable skill of expressing themselves through the arts. Without this outlet many of the men and women they work with would be without hope.
